Capital High School

After my visit to Lapham School, I went to visit Capital High School which shares a building with Lapham School.  The first person I met was Principal Karyn Stocks Glover who showed me around Capitol High School.

The idea for Capital High School was first developed in 1979, but finally became its own school in 2016. The mission of Capital High School is “to foster individualized student pathways and students who are career, college and community ready”

The subject I chose to focus on at Capital High was art, and the creativity and talent of our students was phenomenal.  The focus on art to showcase black excellence was simultaneously inspiring and thought provoking .

Capital High has truly evolved from a small grow your own program, to a true unique learning environment for all MMSD Students.
